Cooking Directions:

Cut each hot dog (or frankfurter) sausage lengthwise about 80% of the way through, so you can fold it out and lay it flat.

Grill the sausages on a griddle until brownish on both sides.

In a small skillet saute the chopped onion in olive oil.

Add the ketchup and two teaspoons of red curry powder. Cook briefly.

Cover the hot dogs with the sauce. Top with the remaining curry powder. Serve with a side of french fries.

Tips:

You can microwave the curry and the catsup for two minutes for an easier preparation.

The traditional German recipe calls for pork sausages (wurst)

An alternative sauce can be prepared substituting the ketchup with 1 can of tomato sauce, 1/4 cup of red wine vinegar, salt and sugar to taste.
