Ingredients:

  • Carob (Powder)

    3/8 cup
  • All Purpose Flour

    21 tbsps
  • Oil

    3 tbsps
  • Water

    19 tbsps
  • Sugar

    3/4 cup
  • Baking Soda

    1 tsp
  • Salt

    1/4 tsp
  • Lime Juice (or lemon juice)

    1 tbsp
  • Vanilla Extract

    1 tsp
  • Rose Petals Preserve (for frosting)

    12 oz

Cooking Directions:

Combine all the liquid ingredients in a bowl.

While stirring add sifted flour, carob powder, sugar and salt; mix until obtaining an homogeneous and lump free cake mix.

Add the baking soda and mix until well incorporated.

Transfer the dough base in a baking pan previously greased.

Bake in the preheated oven at 350F for 25 minutes or until ready. You can use a toothpick to test readiness.

Remove the cake from oven and let cool down at room temperature.

Cut in slices and frost with rose petal preserve by covering each slice on the serving plate.

Enjoy this treat with a cup of hot tea or coffee.
