If you want a good stew add the meat in the pot when the water is boiling. If you want to make a tasty broth, put the meat in the pot when the water is cold.
To add some flavor to the carrots, add to the cooking water some apple juice
The eggs will cook better if they are not too cold. Keep them at room temperature for a while before cooking them.
To separate the egg white from the yolk, use a funnel with the tip immersed in water. Open the egg and the egg white will flow into the water while the egg yolk will stay in the funnel.
If the vinegar has become too strong, put two slices of apple in the bottle and keep for three days. Filtrate the vinegar: you will obtain a lighter taste back.
If your broth is too salty, add few slices of raw potatoes for a few minutes and then discard them. The same can be done with the roast.
In case you need to thaw the fish, dip it in milk, which absorbs odors and returns the original flavors. Also, if you need to accelerate the defrosting time, never put the fish under running water but wrap it in a cloth dampened with water and vinegar or water and white wine.
To see if eggs are really fresh, before breaking them, plunge them into a pot of cold water and salt. If the egg stays in the bottom, it is good. If it floats, you should throw it away.
